Eleanor H. Duncan Urban, age 85, of Evans City passed away Tuesday morning, April 8, 2025, in Cranberry Place, Cranberry Twp.
Born in Indianola, PA on February 21, 1940, she was the daughter of the late Ned and Lillian Hanlon Duncan.
She was of the Protestant Faith.
Eleanor had worked for the Seneca Valley School District as a Teacher’s Aid for 25 years in the Evans City Elementary School.
Eleanor graduated from Mars High School in 1958, she married Richard Urban Sr. on May 28, 1960, and they had 57 years of marriage before his death in 2018. Together they had five children.
She enjoyed Reading, Knitting, making Felt Stockings for Christmas and travelling. Most of all she enjoyed time spent with her grandchildren.
In addition to her parents Eleanor was preceded in death by her husband, Richard Joseph Urban Sr. on February 27, 2018, one infant daughter, Sandra and one son, Richard Jr. and his wife Vicki, four sisters and their spouses, Nancy (John) Graham, Hazel (Gerald) Baptiste, Patricia Foss and Stella (Carl) Trusiak Sr.
She is survived by two daughters, Kim Urban Koser and Deborah (Dave) Jackson, one Son, Wayne (Lisa) Urban, one brother, Ned Duncan Jr., 9 Grandchildren, Angel (Mike) Shute, Kristel (John) Moritz, Kent (Amanda) Daugherty, Nicole (Derek) Smith, Garrett Urban, Devlin (Alexis) Urban, Samuel Detrie, Riley and Bailey Jackson, and 4 Great Grandchildren, John and Jordan Moritz, Noah Daugherty and Evelyn Urban
The family would like to thank the staff and nurses at UPMC Cranberry Place for taking wonderful care of “Miss Ellie” during her stay. Left to cherish many memories and years of friendship are her best friends, Charlotte Price, Carol Baney, Barbara Conville and Mary Stewart.
The family has suggested memorial donations be made to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society in honor of her late Husband, Richard Urban Sr.
Friends and family of Eleanor H. Urban who passed away on April 8, 2025, will be received on Thursday April 17, 2025, from 4-7 P.M. at The A. Carl Kinsey-Ronald N. Volz Funeral Home, 328 W. Main St., Evans City. Funeral Services will be Friday 11:00 A.M. from the funeral home.
