Jeffery A. MacKay

Died: 2/25/2025

Surrounded by family and close friends, Jeffrey A. MacKay, 61, of Evans City, stepped into heaven to be with Jesus, after a brief battle with lung and brain cancer on Tuesday, February 25, 2025.

He was Born on January 26, 1964, in Sandusky, Ohio, to Barb and Gordon MacKay. He grew up with three brothers, Gary, Greg and Mike, before attending Baptist Bible College in Class Summit, PA to pursue God’s call in ministry.

He has whole heartedly, pastored for much of the past 30 years in Michigan, Iowa, and Pennsylvania. He loved God’s Word and was thankful for any opportunity to preach and teach it to people he deeply loved.

He loved his family fiercely and loved the time he spent with them. He was one of the hardest working people on the planet, and loved physical labor as a balance to study.

He could fix absolutely anything! He loved being outside, mowing grass, mulching and visiting with the families lawn customers. He was always ready to pitch in and help. He truly had a passion to serve others.

He is survived by his loving wife, whom he married on December 27, 1986, “Beck” (Rebecca, Becky); his seven children, Amber and Jamie Lindsay, Ashley and Larry Kerns, Emily & Ethan Mawhinney, Jared, Natalie, Joel, and Shaylee MacKay; his nine adored grandchildren, Mia, Reagan, Levi, and Whitney Lindsay; Owens and Weston Mawhinney; Tripp, Ellie, and Scottie Kerns, His brothers, Gary (Sherry), Greg (Lucy), Mike (Lori), Brother-in-law, Tim (Daisy),also nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Gordon and Barbara MacKay and his Grandparents, and one unborn grandchild.

Family and friends of Jeffrey A. MacKay, who passed, February 25, 2025, will be received on Friday February 28, from 1-4pm and 6-9pm at the Kinsey-Volz Funeral Home 114 W. Spring St. Zelienople, PA. Funeral services will be held at North Way Christian Community, 12121 Perry Hwy. Wexford, PA, on Saturday, March 1, 2025 at 10am. Burial will be in Evans City Cemetery.

A Celebration service will also take place at Harmony Baptist Church on Sunday, March 2, 2025, during the 10am service.
