James “Murph” E. Baney Jr., age 83, of Harmony passed away on Thursday morning, September 12, 2024 at his residence after a short illness.
Born November 6, 1940 in Pittsburgh, he was the son of the late Laura B. Gallagher and James E. Baney Sr.
He was a member of St. Gregory Catholic Church-Divine Grace Parish, Zelienople.
He was a member of the Knights of Columbus, St Ferdinand.
Jim had worked for Marmon Keystone as a truck driver, retiring after 39 years of service.
He also drove bus for the Seneca Valley School District.
Jim proudly served his country in the U.S. Army during the Viet Nam Conflict.
He was a member of the Zelienople American Legion Post # 474.
Jim was a diehard fisher and he was a Master Captain.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one sister, Nancy Smith and one brother Richard Baney, also one granddaughter.
He is survived by his wife, Carol Danner Baney, two daughters, Leslie (Gary) Owens of Sherman, NY and Barbara (Bob) Buchanan of Harmony, two sons, James Baney III of Zelienople and Rich (Audrey) Baney of Butler, one sister, Kathy Puskar of FL., 7 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren.
