Gary L. Drushel age 83, of Butler passed away on Wednesday afternoon, February 14, 2024, at his residence with loving family by his side.
Born in Butler March 16, 1940, he was the son of the late R. George and Erla E. Logan Drushel.
He was a member of Christ Community United Methodist Church, Butler. He was very active with his church serving on several committees including Chairman of the Board of Trustees.
Gary retired from Armco Steel in 1997 as a Welder with 32 years of service.
He proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Cuban Conflict. He was a member of the American Legion Post # 117.
Besides working for Armco, he had a small trucking business on the side, plus drove tractor trailers for other businesses.
Gary graduated from Butler High School in 1958 serving as the Treasurer for the FFA.
In addition to his parents Gary was preceded in death by two grandsons, Raymond and Colton.
Gary is survived by his wife Judy E. Reitz Drushel who he married June 29, 1962, two sons, Michael F. (Debra) Drushel of Butler and Neil R. Drushel of Grove City, one sister, Carolyn (Doug) Hervey, Gibsonia, two grandsons, Danial and Ethan, and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Friends and relatives of Gary L. Drushel who died on February 14, 2024, will be received Sunday February 18, 2024, from 1-4 P.M. at the A. Carl Kinsey-Ronald N. Volz Funeral Home, Evans City Services will be held on Monday at 11:00 A.M. from the funeral home, with Dawn Lynn Check, his church pastor.
Memorial Donations may be made to Christ Community United Methodist Church.
He will be laid to rest in Butler Co. Memorial Park with Military Honors.
