Maurice L. “Pete” Bish age 100 of Zelienople formerly of Middlesex Twp. passed away on Monday morning January 29, 2024, at Passavant Retirement Community.
Born in Connoquenessing July 13, 1923, he was the son of the late Carl and Ada Van Dyke Bish and was the last surviving member of his brothers and sisters.
Pete was a member of the former Connoquenessing United Methodist Church.
He retired as a foreman for Castle Rubber in East Butler.
Pete served his country as a Medic during WWII. He was honored recently by Butler Co for reaching the age of 100 years and being in the service.
He enjoyed his retirement on the family farm in Middlesex Twp. He was a proud member of the Republican Party having voted for over 70 consecutive years. He was also a member of the National Rifle Assoc.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Marjorie Cruikshank Bish, and his seven brothers and sisters, Bernice, Gertrude, Anna Belle, Jennings, Blair, Martha and Marjorie.
He is survived by nieces and nephews.
Friends and relatives of Maurice “Pete” Bish who died on January 29, 2024, will be received, Thursday February 1,2024 from 10:30 A.M. till 11:00 A.M. at the A. Carl Kinsey-Ronald N. Volz Funeral Home, 114 W. Spring St., Zelienople, Pa Services will follow at 11:00 A.M.
He will be laid to rest beside his wife in White Oak Springs Church Cemetery, Renfrew.
