Florine G. “Flo” Mathews Burr age 87 of Evans City passed away Saturday morning January 13, 2024, at Good Samaritan Hospice, Wexford.
Born in Glenshaw August 2, 1936, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Marie Bernesser Mathews.
She was a member of St. Matthias Catholic Church, Evans City.
She held strong to her faith and prayed for every family member and friend that ever needed it.
Flo married William Burr. They resided in Evans City with their five children. Together they operated Burr’s Esso Service Station on Route 68 in Evans City.
She enjoyed word searches, puzzles and playing cards with her family. She also loved spending time with her great-grandchildren and watching them grow up. She showed her love to her family through hugs, kind words and food.
In addition to her parents, Florine was preceded in death by her husband, William Burr Sr. on December 29, 2000; two sons, William (Billy) Jr. and George Burr, two brothers and three sisters.
She is survived by three daughters, Marie (William) Huffman of MD, Mary Jean (Edward) Crawford of Seneca, PA and Sharon (Edwin) McGee of VA., one brother, Ronald (Linda) Mathews of Valencia., 11 Grandchildren and 22 great grandchildren.
Friends and relatives of Florine G. “Flo” Burr who died on January 13, 2024, will be received, Wednesday January17, 2024 at the A. Carl Kinsey-Ronald N. Volz Funeral Home, Evans City from 6-8 P.M. Services will be held on Thursday January 18, 2024, at 11:00 A.M. from the funeral home. She will be laid to rest in Butler Co. Memorial Park.
