David A. Fyock, 80 of Evans City, passed away Tuesday, February 22, 2011, in U.P.M.C. Passvant, McCandless Township.
He was born on November 5, 1930, and was the son of the late Dwight and E. Gwen Wissinger Fyock.
Mr. Fyock was a member of Mars Alliance Church.
He was a graduate of the University of Pittsburgh, where he played football.
David was and Educator, Administrator, and Entrepreneur.
Mr. Fyock worked for American Schools International as a Coach and an Administrator in Tai Pei, Taiwan, and Bangkok, Thailand, and as a coach and Principal in Esfahan, Iran.
He had been the Associate Director of Development and Alumni Affairs and Executive Secretary of the Varsity Letter Club at Pitt.
Mr. Fyock served as the Dean of Men at Davis & Elkins College in Elkins, West Virginia.
Most recently he owned and operated a consulting firm, China Consultants, Inc.
He was preceded in death by his brother, Jonathan.
Mr. Fyock is survived by his wife; Kim Chen Fyock, whom he married on April 20, 1966, three daughters; Debra Fyock and husband Alfred Stidle of Pittsburgh, Darcy Fyock Zotter of Jakarta, Indonesia, SuLan Fyock Peebles and husband Craig of Castro Valley, California, a son; Shawn (Naomi) Fyock of Vancouver, Washington, eight grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren.
Relatives and friends of David A. Fyock, who died on Tuesday, February 22, 2011, will be received at the A. Carl Kinsey-Ronald N. Volz Funeral Home, Inc. 328 West Main Street, Evans City, PA 16033, from 2:00-4:00 p.m. and 7:00-9:00 p.m. on Friday, February, 25, 2011. The funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, February 26, 2011, with the Rev. Jeff Lawther, his pastor, officiating. The burial will follow at the Evans City Cemetery.
