Richard S. Burgard, age 92, of Evans City passed away on Wednesday July 15, 2020 at his residence with his family by his side, after a short illness.
Born October 20, 1927 in Jackson Twp., he was the son of the late Sylvester and Emma Wymer Burgard.
He was a member of Gospel Life Church of Evans City for his entire life.
He owned and operated, Burgard’s auto repair.
He enjoyed his many grandchildren, enjoyed going on family vacations, trains, and classic cars.
He is survived by, one daughter, Joyce (Brian) Dakin of TX, three sons, Richard (Terri) Burgard of Evans City, Randy (Lysa) Burgard of Pittsburgh, and John Burgard, of Evans City, 7 Grandchildren, Matthew (Erin) Leasher, Petrolia, Erin (Dave) Grubbs, Evans City, Todd (Sherry) Burgard, Sarver, Melanie Provost, Butler, Jacob Burgard, Philadelphia, Karli Burgard, Pittsburgh, Step granddaughter Theresa Sirotic, Australia, 23 Greatgrandchildren, and 10 great-great grandchildren. Two sisters, Eileen Best, New Castle, Caroline (Carl) Young Michigan, two brothers, David (Charlotte) Burgard, Evans City, Leo (Linda) Burgard, OK.
He was preceded in death by, his loving wife of 71 years, Frances M. Allshouse, whom he married on March 26, 1949, and who passed away April 8, 2020, two granddaughters, Jamie and Kelly Leasher, one brother, George Burgard, and two sister’s Leatrice Gravatt, and Emily Springer
Visitation and Burial for Richard will be held on Saturday July 18, 2020, at the Evans City Cemetery, Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Proper personal protection is required.
