Evelyn M. Lydick Hankey–Pearce, 87, of Zelienople, passed away on Sunday January 27, 2019 in Passavant Retirement Community, Zelienople.
Born November 25, 1931 in Smicksburg, she was the daughter of the late Reuben E.T. and Mary C. Gearhart Lydick.
She was a member of Park Presbyterian Church, Zelienople, where she served as an Elder and belonged to the Martha Circle.
Evelyn was the proud owner of Hankeys Sew-a-Hide in Zelienople for over 60 years and was a master seamstress specializing in Sheepskin and furs.
In 1975 she earned her pilots license and was a honorary member of the Con Dor Air Club.
She was also a commander in the Civil Air Patrol based in Zelienople.
Evelyn was a member of the Butler Squares.
Evelyn was preceded in death by her husbands, Robert A. Hankey Sr. January 11, 1993 and her second husband Edwin J. Pearce on December 17, 2018; also two sisters, Viola and Kathryn and a granddaughter, Candance.
Survived by one daughter, Cathy (Allan) Runninger of Franklin, one son, Robert (Sandra) Hankey Jr. of Arizona; one sister, June Knox of Gibsonia; five grandchildren, Lynn Runninger Tabor, Michael (Amanda) Runninger, Dawn (John) Barcala, Kristal (Shawn) Stevenson and Robert (Kristina) Hankey III; 13 great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren; two step daughters, Lois (Gary) Wiley of Zelienople and Vickie (Scott) Mason of MD.; two step sons, Richard (Joyce) Pearce of Cranberry Twp. And Bryan (Billiejo) of MD.; seven step grandchildren and 6 step great grandchildren.
A Memorial celebration for Evelyn Hankey–Pearce will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Saturday February 2, 2019 at Park Presbyterian Church, Zelienople,PA
