Dorothy “Dot” R. Powers Double, age 80 of Renfrew passed away on Monday, December 19 after a bravely fought battle with cancer. She spent her last days constantly surrounded by the love of her family and friends.
Born December 9, 1936 in Gatesville, TX , she was the daughter of the late Willie and Willie B. Meyers Powers.
Dot was of the protestant faith.
She was a devoted wife and mother.
Dot married her husband on December 13, 1952, just days after her 16th birthday. Their 64th wedding anniversary was on December 13, 2016. Together, they forged a life, full of love and devotion for one another and their ever-growing family.
Dot was a sassy woman, who was full of spunk, stubbornness, and a quirky sense of humor. She was outspoken, nosey, and opinionated.
She spent her free time in water aerobics at the YMCA, watching western films and shopping at Boscov’s. She was happy and had a way of making others feel the same. She lacked envy and showed the ultimate satisfaction and love for her life. Above all else, she was proud of her family.
She was loved deeply by all who knew her. She was Amazing! She left us too soon and she will be profoundly missed.
In addition to her parents, Dot was preceded in death by her brother, Bruce Powers.
