Rev. Betty J. Ferguson Dean age 77 of Zelienople passed away suddenly Monday morning June 6, 2016 in UPMC Cranberry.
Born in Greenville, SC she was the daughter of the late Charles and Blanche Russell Ferguson.
Betty was a member of the Jerusalem Baptist Church, Pittsburgh where she served as the Associate Pastor.
She wore many hats in leadership and serving others.
Before graduating from Carlow College with a degree in Theology, she was a licensed practical nurse, worked in occupational therapy, a care giver and worked for Three Rivers Adoption Agency. She was a mother to many Foster Children. And most of all she loved spending time with her grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Dr. Rev. Raymond Dean in 1991.
She is survived by three sons, Raymond H. (Cari) Dean Jr. of West Sunbury, Leon (Cathleen) Dean of Dallas, TX and Johny Dean of Arnold; one sister, Charlene Whitted of Zelienople; and seven grandchildren.
Friends and relatives of Betty J. Ferguson Dean, who died June 6, 2016 will be received on Thursday, June 9, 2016 from 6-8 P.M. at the Jerusalem Baptist Church, Pittsburgh and Friday from 2-4 & 7-9 at the A.Carl Kinsey-Ronald N. Volz Funeral Home, 114 W. Spring St., Zelienople, PA. Services will be held on Saturday from the funeral home at 10:00 A. M. Burial in Pinewood Memorial Park, Cranberry Twp..
