Robert O. Smith, age 99 of Renfrew passed away suddenly Mon. morning February 9, 2015, in Sunnyview Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Butler.
Born January 29, 1916 in Renfrew, he was the son of the late Harrison B. and Edna Yund Smith. He was born and lived in the same house his entire life.
He was a member of Grace Church of Harmony.
Mr. Smith's profession was farming. One of his favorite jobs was raising chickens and producing eggs. He had an egg route where he met and made many friends. Although farming was his occupation, he loved his work. He also enjoyed reading and traveling.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Erla Mae Burr Smith on June 25, 1991, and one brother.
Survived by two daughters, Margery (Timothy) Faux of Tulsa,OK., and Jane Smith of Evans City; two sons, Paul (Patricia) Smith of Hoosick Falls, NY. and Ronald "Snuffy" (Betty) Smith of Renfrew; 11 Grandchildren and 9 Great Grandchildren.
SMITH Friends of Robert O. Smith, who died Monday, February 9, 2015 will be received on Fri. Feb. 13, 2015 from 6-8:00 P.M. at the A. Carl Kinsey-Ronald N. Volz Funeral Home, 328 W. Main St., Evans City, PA. Funeral services will follow at 8:00 P.M.
Burial will be Monday in Butler Co. Memorial Park.
The family has suggested memorial donations be made to the Butler Salvation Army, 313 W. Cunningham St., Butler, PA 16001.
