Bruce Arthur Schmidley, age 77, of Evans City, passed away Friday evening, May 16, 2014, in Cranberry Place, Cranberry Twp.
Born December 3, 1936, in Rochester, he was the son of the late John and Ethel Littell Schmidley and step father Ted King.
Art was a member of Victory Church, where he served as an usher.
He retired as a By Product Worker for L.T.V. Steel, Aliquippa in 1985.
Art served in the National Guard.
He was active in the Evans City Senior Center, where he enjoyed playing cards and was a member of the Drum Circle.
He was a caring person who loved his family.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Donna Jean Seig Schmidley on May 10, 2011, one son, 1 brother, and 4 sisters.
Art is survived by two daughters, Susan (Richard) Huber of Zelienople and Nancy (Steve) Stevens of Evans City; four sons, Thomas (Natalee) Schmidley of Mars, John (Shelly) Schmidley of AZ, Timothy Schmidley of Baden, and Joseph (Francine) Schmidley of McKees Rocks, one sister-in-law, Betty Schmidley of Rochester; 8 grand children, Michael (Amanda), Jamie, Jessica, John Jr., Jenna, Gabriel, Allen and Katie; one great grandson, Jaysen.
Friends of Art, will be received on Tuesday May 20, 2014, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9, funeral services will be held on Wednesday May 21, 2014, at 11:00 A.M. from the funeral home. Burial will take place in the Evans City Cemetery.
The family has suggested memorial donations be made to Evans City Senior Center, 426 E. Main St., Evans City, PA 16033.
