Elizabeth Jean Chambers, age 90, of Zelienople, formerly of Beaver, passed away Saturday morning, March 22, 2014, at Passavant Retirement Community, Zelienople, PA, one day before her 91st birthday.
Born March 23, 1923, in Ambridge, PA, she was the daughter of the late Ralph E. and Sarah M. White Chambers.
She was a member of Park Presbyterian Church, Zelienople, PA.
Jean was a graduate of Beaver High School and earned a B.A. in Education from Muskingum College, New Concord, OH. She taught in the elementary schools of E. Liverpool, OH, and Beaver, PA. As a very devoted educator, she inspired a love of learning in her students.
Jean was preceded in death by her infant brother; one nephew, Richard L. Douglass of New York City; and her sister, Evelyn Douglass of McMurray.
She is survived by one nephew, David S. Douglass, and his wife Femme, of Pittsburgh; and by David’s daughter, Elizabeth W. Douglass, of E. Stroudsburg, PA.
Friends of Elizabeth Jean Chambers of Zelienople, who passed away on March 22, 2014, will be received Saturday, March 29, for viewing at Kinsey-Volz Funeral Home, Zelienople, PA, from noon to 2 PM, followed at 2 PM by a brief service.
A Celebration of Life will follow from 3 to 4 PM at Park Presbyterian Church, Zelienople, PA, including a luncheon.
Private burial will be at Riverview Cemetery, E. Liverpool, OH.
