Joseph J. Blizman, age 73, of Callery died Sunday morning October 13, 2013, in UPMC Cranberry Place.
Born November 6, 1939, in Ellwood City, he was the son of the late Joseph A. and Sally Ross Blizman.
He was a member of Crestview Community Church, Callery, where he served as a Deacon.
He retired from G.A. Industries, Cranberry Twp. as a machinist.
Joe was a member of Loyal Order of the Moose 957, of Harmony for 40 years, Callery Volunteer Fire Department, Mars VFW Post 7505, a life member of the Hungarian Soceity, Zelienople, and Past President, and former mayor, and a member of Callery Borough Council.
He enjoyed bowling, NASCAR racing, traveling, movies and going to dinner with his special friend, Karen Mueller.
Joe was preceded in death by his wife, Valerie E. Ferianc Hauserman Blizman, May 4, 2009, and a grandson.
He is survived by two daughters, Teresa (Mathew) Schmitt of East Windsor, CT, and Melissa Foley of Callery and her friend Tim Rabenstein of Mars; two sons, Joseph (Deborah) Blizman of Mechanicsville, VA, and Donald (Karen) Hauserman of Lucinda; 10 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.
The family of Joseph J. Blizman, who died on Oct. 13, 2013, will receive friends on Tuesday Oct. 15, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 P.M. at the Kinsey-Volz F.H. 328 West Main St. Evans City PA 16033. A Memorial Service will be held at 7:00 P.M. Wed evening in Crestview Community Church, Callery.
Burial will be in Evans City Cemetery.
