Gary L. Kummer, age 68, of Evans City, passed away Sunday morning March 17, 2013, in the VNA Inpatient Hospice, Butler.
Born January 22, 1945, in Chicora, he was the son of the late George and Carrie Simpson Kummer.
Gary was a member of the Westminster United Presbyterian Church, Evans City.
He retired from Armco now AK Steel with 39 years as a welder.
He was a member of the National Rifle Association and enjoyed hunting. He loved his grandchildren and spending time with them. His constant companion was his dog, Maxine. He also enjoyed his horses.
He is survived by his wife Shirley Fulton Kummer, whom he married April 3, 1963; four sons, George (Missy) Kummer of Butler, Ronald (Lori) Kummer and Jake (Alice) Kummer both of Ellwood City, and Jason (Nicole) Kummer of Evans City; three sisters, Belva Kummer and Brenda (Kenneth) Anderson both of West Sunbury and Beverly (James) Hilliard of Unionville; also 10 grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by two grandsons.
The family of Gary L. Kummer who passed away Sunday March 17, 2013, will welcome friends on Tuesday March 19, 2013, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 P.M. at the Kinsey-Volz F.H. 328 West Main Street, Evans City, PA 16033. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Wednesday from the funeral home, Rev. Tom Clyde offficiating.
