Richard C. Allen, age 60, of Oakdale formerly of Zelienople, passed away Monday morning, September 24, 2012, at his residence
Born in Ellwood City October 20, 1951, he was the son of Clark R. Allen, of Zelienople and the late Lois Jean Mohr Allen.
He was of Protestant faith. Mr. Allen graduated from Grove City College in 1973, with a B.S. in Chemistry. He worked as a chemist for Bayer Material Science, Pittsburgh, until his illness three weeks ago.
He is survived by his wife Carol Merdzinski Allen, whom he married on April 7, 1980; on daughter, Beth of Oakdale; two sons, Derek of Zelienople, and Ryan of Phoenix AZ. his father Clark of Zelienople; one brother, Randy (Pam) Allen of Albuquerque, NM.
Friends and relatives are invited to a memorial service on September 26, 2012, at 2:00 P.M. at the Kinsey-Volz F.H. 114 West Spring Street, Zelienople PA 16063
