George J. Herbel, age 76, of Zelienople, passed away suddendly on Monday, June 16, 2012, in the Emegency Room at UPMC Cranberry Twp. He was born Janurary 18, 1934, in Millvale. He was the son of the late George and Barbara Status Mercurio. He was married for 54 years to Ardeth Gliniecki Herbel.
He retired from UPS in Pittsburgh with 32 years of Service. He was a member of St. Gregory Catholic Church in Zelienople.
He is survived by his wife Ardeth (Gliniecki) Herbel: one daughter Kimberly Widener of Rumson, NJ; one son, Duane Herbel and his partner Kevin Christopher of Baltimore MD, and five grandchildren, Jermemy, Julian, August, and Eli Widerer and Graysen Herbel-Christopher.
A Memorial service wil be held on Saturday August 25, 2012, at 1:00 P.M. at St. Gregory Catholic Church, 2 West Beaver Street Zelienople, PA 16063.
