Robert F. Hartzell, age 80, of Kightdale, NC, formerly of Zelienople, passed away Thursday February 23, 2012, at his residence.
Born in Pittsburgh, on May 3, 1931, he was the son of the late Harry M. and Edna Meyers. He was of the Protestant Faith. He retired as a shop foreman from Bryant Industries, Morrisville, NC. He had worked at Blawnox before moving to NC.
He loved to work, and fish with his grandsons.
He is survived by his wife Carol Rush Hartzell, whom he married May 3, 1972; four daughters, Linda (John) Schlichtkrull and Robin (Tim) Rausch both of Zelienople, Barbara Plotka of Kittanning and Kathy Lutz of Ford City; four sons, Robert Hartzell of NC, Dale (Pauline) Hartzell of Cabot, Dennis Hartzell of Slippery Rock and Tom (Holly) Hartzell of Butler; two sisters, Mary J. Burr of Evans City and Helen Bader of Zelienople; 19 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by three brothers.
Relatives and friends of Robert F. Hartzell, who passed away on February 23, 2012, will be received at the A. Carl Kinsey-Ronald N. Volz Funeral Home, 328 West Main Street, Evans City, on Monday from 7 to 9 P.M. and Tuesday 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 P.M. Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday February 29, 2012 at 11:00 A.M. from the funeral home.
Burial will Take place in Pinewood Memorial Park, Cranberry Township.
