Jennifer Ferranti Date: 2/17/2011 | Our Mother was a beautiful woman.
She was strong, intelligent, and well-read. She was a great cook, an avid reader and a connoisseur of crossword puzzles.
She was a female executive (Magnetics corp., United Moving Vans, Member Relations at the Society of Automotive Engineers) when female executives were scarce and a single parent when single parenting was rare.
She raised 5 strong, proud, independent children.
She was a beloved wife and mother and a devoted grandmother and great-grandmother.
She taught us manners, etiquette, how to swim, how to decorate a Christmas tree and how to make hospital corners.
She gave us memories of sage stuffing, holiday lights and summer picnics.
She faced her illness with more grace and dignity than we believe we ever could.
She was always smart, often fierce and sometimes stubborn.
But most of all she was our Mom and we will miss her.
