So sorry to hear of your mom's passing. I had stopped to see her at Evergreen last summer but she did not know me nor remember my parents, Helen & Bill Powell, nor my sister Rosella, who was one of her playmates in Swamp Poodle back about 80 yrs ago. I had a memoir published in 2012 that includes story of Spurg 'n Mary. It's on Amazon. com. My dad went thru Mary's potato patch on his motorcycle and dig them up while trying to control his run-away cycle heading for the chicken coop behind your homestead.
