What can one say about a man
Who worked in a mill for 44 years -
10 hours a day during the week
And 6 hours on Saturday?
You might call such a man
A creature of habit,
But that wouldn't do justice
To my Dad.
No.
My dad worked 56 hours a week
In a dangerous unhealthy environment,
Which slowly tore his body down,
Because he was dedicated to his family.
The importance of family,
Specifically the nuclear family,
Is a value my father instilled
In both my brother and I.
Yes.
It's true my family doesn't like change,
Especially when we reach our comfort zone.
But some change is unavoidable.
And we'll deal with the change from this past week
The way our father taught us…
As efficiently and resolutely as possible.
