Douglas T. Cooper Date: 12/28/2013 | She was beautiful and I love(d) her dearly. |
Erin Ryan Date: 11/19/2012 | Mr. and Mrs. McBride and sisters of Lynnette: I just learned of Lynnette's death while reading "The Bucknellian"; and I continue to be overwhelmed with grief. Lynnette and I were 2 PA natives but shared a love of many common things.... music, art, economics and track. We also both wished our small 5foot frames were a little taller. Lynnette and I ran together on the track team at Bucknell -- she was not only an awesome long jumper, but she could run a mean 400m when she she wanted to... I received or handed off to her many, many times in the 4x400 relay. She invited me to live with her in "The Quads" when she was a senior, as she got a top pick for housing -- I was a sophomore and we spent the year together: Geri Kernisan, Dana Harbst, me and Lynnette. It was my most memorable year of college. I continue to coach track and mention Lynnette and her achievements on a routine basis - not only did she excel on the track, but she truly was an exceptional person. She made an incredibly positive impact on my life and decisions that I was making at a critical points - I will miss her greatly -- I am blessed to have known her and am a better person for having had her as a friend. I will make a point of carrying on her legacy of positive perspectives and optimistic attitudes. I hope she has found our common friend, Bill Daisley, and also my brother, as her soul has only begun her journey as an Angel. Your family will forever be in my thoughts and prayers. Lovingly, Erin |

Lynette truly embraced life and embodied the the proverbial "Zest for life" spirit that enabled her to seamlessly navigate her way through every social, ethnic and cultural experience she encoutered. YES, she was truly a "free spirit!" I will miss her beautiful smile and the affectionate way that she engaged people on a friendly (albeit personal) level. May you rest in eternal peace Angel. Spread your wings and take your flight into the loving arms of the Savior. You've completed your task and you ran your race with dignity, honor and purpose. Now it's time for you to rest! Love David!!! |

Sandy 'Liddle' Neville Date: 6/13/2012 | It was an email from a track teammate from high school, Patti Griest, who was 3 years ahead of me, letting me know of Lynnette's passing who was 3 years behind me at Seneca Valley. We truly were a family that cared about each other even after we graduated and lost touch. I coached track at a high school in Maryland this year and my daughters competed in long jump...they heard stories about Lynnette - I couldn't separate that event from her legacy. When I was on the team, I could still jump further than her...that was a passing phase as she sprouted wings and flew to the end of the pit for a long time after my glory days;) I just learned about the amazing life she lead after high school when I read her obituary, and can only imagine all of the stories that didn't fit on the page. I will remember her as a spunky high school freshman on the basketball court and on the track and be grateful that I was able to share that time with her. May she rest in peace and may her family and friends find ways to go on without her. |
